Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In the above sketch the artist has delineated a war wagon pulled by two horses and devoid of a rider, executed with linear, continuous pencil strokes. The lines are firm yet fluid, articulating the basic contours of the forms and adding dynamism to the composition.
