Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. The above sketch by the artist, depicts a lower portion of the Egyptian man, draped in an adorned traditional attire. The figure is rendered with linear, firm pencil strokes, articulating the contours of the body and suggesting the demeanour of the subject.
