In this sketch, Nandalal has rendered the figure of a goddess in quick, short strokes of the pencil. He has reproduced the figure from the book, 'Hindoe-Javanese' by Dr. N.J. Krom as the inscription suggests. Nandalal had a deep appreciation for the rich artistic traditions of the past and often incorporated elements from them in his works.
