Nandalal is known to have fervently sketched on postcard sized papers mostly using ink and brush, recording his surroundings. In the above sketch the artist has depicted a man sitting in lalitasana on a platform. The composition is rendered with linear, continuous pencil strokes delineating the basic contours of the body and suggesting the demeanour of the subject.
