This image, being one of many posture studies done by Nandalal, depicts the stance of a female figure, probably a queen as implied by her attire. She holds a baby in her right arm while the rest of her frame is in profile suggesting she is engaged in a conversation. The sketch rendered in firm, successive strokes is reproduced from part of a mural from cave no. 17 of the Ajanta caves.
