Nandalal has here studied the posture as well as the symmetry of the human form. This image depicts a female figure, looking upwards, her gesture suggesting awe as she puts her left hand on her chest. Reproduced from part of a mural from cave no. 1 of the Ajanta caves, the drawing is rendered in quick, bold strokes.
