Nandalal has here studied the posture of a female figure, seated gracefully on the ground as she leans on her right hand. The artist renders the figure with great fluency, accentuating the contours of her robust form with dark, firm lines. As per the inscription, the drawing has been reproduced from cave no. 1 of the Ajanta caves.
