Here, Nandalal has sketched the figure of a male flute player, loosely rendered in a succession of repetitive strokes. As per the inscription, the drawing is reproduced from part of the panel 'Mahajanaka Jataka' from cave no.1 of the Ajanta caves. This particular scene depicts king Mahajanaka leaving his palace on horseback, led by a procession of dancers and musicians, the figure being one among many.
