Nandalal has here sketched the figure of King Mahajanaka, seated on a throne as he looks down pensively. Rendered in bold, contouring lines, the drawing has been spared of much detail. This particular scene has been sketched from part of the mural that depicts the 'Mahajanaka Jataka' from cave no.1 of the Ajanta caves.
