Nandalal here studies the posture of a male figure kneeling down in adoration. A quick rendition in deep flowing lines, sketched from the mural 'Story of a sea voyage; Purna avdana', from cave no. 2 of the Ajanta caves. This particular part of the panel depicts a votary, identified as Purna (a disciple of Buddha) being blessed by the Buddha on embracing the Buddhist faith.
