Nandalal has here drawn a celestial being, reproduced from the mural 'The Naga Votaries' from cave no. 9 of the Ajanta caves. The figure is depicted flying and the gesture of his left hand suggests that he is lifting an object, however, the artist has spared the sketch of all such details and only rendered it with firm, repetitive pencil strokes.
