Nandalal has here studied the posture of a female figure kneeling on one leg. She seems to be counting on her fingers, suggested by the gesture of her hands. Rendered in fluid, curvilinear strokes, the artist brings out the contours of the form with great delicacy. As the inscription suggests, this drawing has been reproduced from part of a mural in cave no. 16 of the Ajanta caves.
