Nandalal has here studied the posture of a man seated on a chair. Probably a priest, his hands are folded and he wears a long drape wrapped around his body. Delineated with a linear fluidity, as the inscription suggests, the sketch has been reproduced from part of a mural from cave no. 17 of the Ajanta caves.
