This sketch is one among the many posture studies done by Nandalal during his visit to the Ajanta caves in 1945. He has here sketched a man looking over his shoulder as his clothes sway in the wind. As the inscription suggests, this image has been rendered from part of the panel, 'The Royal Bedroom- Simhala Avadana' from cave no 17 of the Ajanta caves.
