Nandalal has here rendered the sketch of a warrior, holding a bow and an arrow in his hand as he assumes a position to target. The image has been reproduced from part of the mural that depicts the 'Simhala Avadana' from cave no.17 of the Ajanta caves. The artist has rendered this sketch in fine, repetitive pencil strokes.
