Nandalal has here studied the posture of a female figure as she sits cross-legged leaning on her right arm. A certain feminine delicacy and grace is accentuated by the fluid and quick strokes. As per the inscription on the drawing paper, the sketch is traced from part of a mural in cave no. 17 of the Ajanta caves.
