This detailed anatomical sketch by Nandalal depicts the skeletal structure of the human foot (as mentioned in the inscriptions), clearly labelled with each of its parts. The artist wanted to synthesise artistic visual expression with scientific fact and hence engaged with such minute attention to the form. He has here studied the structure of the foot to enrich his skills in figurative renditions. Nandalal has also sketched a smaller template of a leg along the left margin.
