In this anatomical sketch, Nandalal has depicted the various muscle groups of the front of the human torso in intricate detail in fine, rhythmic strokes of the pencil. The artist wanted to synthesise artistic visual expression with scientific fact, thus paying minute attention to the form. He has here delineated each muscle of the human torso to enrich his skills in figurative renditions.
