Architectural Design from Sketch Book No.6 10415 Nandalal Bose Pen and ink on paper

×
Nandalal preferred drawing from life, often sketching outdoors with the subject being life, nature studies, landscapes, figure drawings and animals. He also had a keen fascination for studying the architectural traits particular to different regions and also observed the modifications in them with the change in terrains. In the sketch above, he has rendered a mud house in which a window made of bamboo strips has been depicted, executed in short, linear strokes of the pen that give a texture rendition to the window.
