This rendition of a twisted neck ornament, probably from a sculpture has been reproduced by Nandalal. He often made records of the ornamental carvings on historical buildings as Nandalal had a deep appreciation for the rich sculptural and architectural productions of ancient and medieval India and frequently incorporated elements from them into his works.
