Architectural Design from Sketch Book No.6 10452 Nandalal Bose Pen and ink on paper

×
Nandalal preferred drawing from life, often sketching outdoors with the subject being life, nature studies, landscapes, figure drawings and animals. He also had a keen fascination for studying the architectural traits particular to different regions and also observed the modifications in them with the change in terrains. In the sketch above, he has depicted a rural architectural building and also studied a ladder-like structure which is made up of bamboo as the inscription suggests. He has executed this sketch in short linear strokes of pen that suggest the contours of the forms.
