    Nandalal Bose

An Architectural Design from Sketch Book No. 6 10477 Nandalal Bose Pen and ink on paper

×
Nandalal is known to have fervently sketched on postcard sized papers mostly using ink and brush, recording his surroundings. In the above sketch, the artist has rendered a lady in distress standing at an entrance. The composition depicting a fragment of an architectural structure and the woman are rendered with linear, bold ink strokes, articulating the contours and suggesting the spontaneity of Nandalal's sketches.
