Nandalal has here traced an illustration of the goddess Lakshmi. She has been depicted standing on a lotus and also typically carries lotuses in both hands gracefully. As the inscription suggests, this drawing has been reproduced from the book, 'Indian Drawings' by Ananda Coomaraswamy. The artist has rendered this sketch in dark, fluid brush strokes in a controlled and steady manner.
