    Nandalal Bose

Study of Oriental Art - Sketch Book No. 25 11195 Nandalal Bose Pen & ink on Nepali paper

×
Nandalal has here depicted a bearded man seated on a low stool and his costume, turban and posture suggest that he is a Mughal monarch. Below this drawing, the artist has also made tracings of two people engaged in writing, possibly courtiers. The illustration has been reproduced in steady, bold lines with ink and brush from Ananda Coomaraswamy's book, Indian Drawings.
