Nandalal has here traced two compositions, probably from part of a Mughal miniature or old manuscript that are embellished with illuminated borders of animal and bird illustrations. In the upper tracing, a group of leaping deer can be seen rendered in fine, linear pencil strokes while in the lower tracing, a hunting scene with animal and bird figures has been depicted amidst an exquisite floral pattern. The figures are imbued with feeling and the use of fine lines adds grace to the whole composition.
