In this delicate pencil sketch, Nandalal has reproduced a swirling pattern interspersed with birds and angel figures. He often made records of the ornamental carvings on historical buildings as Nandalal had a deep appreciation for the rich sculptural and architectural productions of medieval India and frequently incorporated elements from them into his works.
