In this delicate pencil sketch, Nandalal has reproduced an ornamental depiction of a bird set within a medallion setting. He often made records of the decorative carvings on historical buildings as Nandalal had a deep appreciation for the rich sculptural and architectural productions of ancient and medieval India and frequently incorporated elements from them into his works.
