Nandalal preferred drawing from life, often sketching outdoors with the subject being life, nature studies, landscapes, figure drawings and animals. In the above print the artist has depicted the palm grove, rendered with thin lines incised on a copper plate and imprinted on a plain surface with the use of black ink. The various fine strokes delineating the form of the palm trees adds depth in the composition.
