Nandalal preferred drawing from life, often sketching outdoors with the subject being life, nature studies, landscapes, figure drawings and animals. In the above print the artist depicts the pine forest, rendered with sharp, thin lines incised in a copper plate and transferred on the plain surface with the use of black ink. The fine strokes delineating the form of trees and adds depth in the composition.
