Nandalal is known to have fervently sketched on postcard sized papers mostly using ink and brush, recording his surroundings. In this postcard, he has depicted a portrait of a man in side profile wearing specs. The fluid handling of the lines in calligraphic style suggest the contours of the face, highlighting the facial features and demeanour of the subject.
