    Nandalal Bose

Ramchandra and Ahallya, 1948 4987 Nandalal Bose Tempera on paper

×
Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In this painting, he has depicted a woman holding a child in her arms and an attendant standing behind her. Rendered with the use of flat colours, delineating the contours of the figure and adding depth to the composition.
