Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In the above watercolour painting, the artist has depicted two men sitting on a hill, gambling and tent seen in the background. Rendered with dabs and dashes of watercolour in tonal variation suggesting the contours of the forms, adding vigour to the painting.
