Nandalal is known to have fervently sketched on postcard sized papers mostly using ink and brush, recording his surroundings. In the above painting the artist has illustrated a scene from Maharbharat where Lord Krishna acts as the charioteer of Arjun. The elaborately painted scene is rendered with fine yet firm, linear ink strokes articulating the elegant structures, filled with watercolours, bringing about the corporeality of the forms and substance.
